Opera Picciona has announced the release of three new recordings of recently discovered songs cut from Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘Iolanthe.’

According to the company, the manuscripts were discovered last month by researcher Marc Shepherd, who found them in the back of a misfiled manuscript in the British Library. The new recordings are available on Opera Picciona’s website, YouTube channel, and social media, featuring vocalists Alice J. Lambert as Phyllis, Cameron Smith as Lord Tolloller, Richard Holmes as Lord Mountararat, and David Bell as the Lord Chancellor, accompanied by Marisa Green.

Shepherd has also provided the full and vocal scores of each song for free on his SubStack page, along with his account of their discovery and publication.
