On October 29, 2026, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company will premiere their newest work, ‘Friction.’
Held at Ailey Citigroup Theater, the work represents the first evening-length piece by the company since 2019. The work is said to explore the relationship between artificial and human intelligence, as well as various tensions between people.
The dancers will include Derek Crescenti, Daniel Gwirtzman, Sarah Hamilton, Vanessa Martinez de Banos, Johhny Matthews, among others.
‘Friction’ will also be previewed at New York City Center Studios on September 12 and October 11 in a free, rehearsal-style performance.
Founded in 1998, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company has garnered praise over the years for their accessible approach to dance, audience engagement, and original programming.
