The Joffrey Ballet has announced open auditions for the Children’s Cast of Christopher Wheeldon’s ‘The Nutcracker.’
Held at their studios in Joffrey Tower, the auditions are open to all young dancers regardless of whether they have appeared in prior productions.
General Audition #1 – September 10, 2026.
Dancers aged 8 and over, maximum height 4’7.
General Audition #2 – September 13, 2026.
Open to male dancers aged 10-18, minimum height 4’7, maximum height 5’8.
General Audition #3 – September 13, 2026.
Open to female dancers aged 10-18, minimum height 4’7, maximum height 5’6.
Video Auditions – Open Through September 12, 2026.
Actors aged 10-18 are also encouraged to submit a video audition for the role of Worker Child, performed in a wheelchair designed for the production. No height requirements.
