Multidisciplinary dance company gaudanse has announced the receival of a $35k grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.
Founded in 2020 by Imani Gaudin, the collective is based between New York City and New Orleans, and seeks to provide programs, mentorship, workshops, and performance opportunities to early-career artists from underserved backgrounds.
“During these challenging times, the New York State Council on the Arts has been a stalwart and innovative funder,” said NYSCA Executive Director Erika Mallin in a press release. “These grants will serve artists and organizations in every region and county, fueling our economy and serving our communities. We know this support isn’t just an investment in the arts; it’s an investment in New York’s future. Congratulations to gaudanse and thank you for your perseverance, your creativity, and your tireless service to New York State.”
Thus far, NYSCA has awarded $80.9 million to arts and culture companies across 10 regions for the fiscal year of 2026.
