On September 18, 2026, L’Alliance New York will kick off this year’s Crossing the Line Festival, presenting an assortment of modern works in dance, visual art, music, film, and more.

The Birds
Co-presented by PS21: Center for Contemporary Performance, choreographer Lenio Kaklea draws inspiration from the structure of bird behavior ranging from courtship to hunting patterns.

Commedia dell’arte
Camille Henrot brings the stock characters of the Italian Renaissance to a modern-day NYC apartment setting for hijinks to ensue.
Performance Dates: September 23, 24, 25, 26, 2026.
Ad Libitum
Dancer Simon Le Borgne and musician Ulysse Zangs have teamed up to create this work which explore the idea of steeping outside of one’s self for the sake of art or personal development.
Performance Dates: October 7, 8, 9, 2026.
“Crossing The Line as a platform for French and francophone creation keeps our local performing arts scene diverse, curious, and cutting-edge,” says curator Violane Huisman in a press release. ”This year, recent newcomers in the festival come back with expanded runs and larger projects, while two artists make their US début. With roots in Greece, Guadeloupe, Rwanda, Nigeria or Vietnam, our line-up embraces migratory voices and encourages audiences to travel just as far in their imagination.”
