The Joffrey Ballet has announced the completion of a major refresh of their home venue, The Joffrey Tower.
Among the improvements are new interiors, designed by RubioStudio, and environmental graphics by artist and designer Bob Faust. Major aspects also include a health and wellness center, new Harlequin Wood Sprung Floors, and the expansion of the Anne L. Kaplan Costume Shop, Grainger Academy Lobby, and other administrative facilities.
“To support their work on stage, it is of the utmost importance that our Company Artists and students are taken care of off stage, so we sought for Joffrey Tower’s surroundings to be mindful of both the artists’ physical and mental wellbeing,” said President and CEO Greg Cameron in a press release. “A great deal of attention was paid to providing leading-edge fitness equipment and spa facilities in our expansive new Health and Wellness Center, along with offering a variety of comfortable and vibrant spaces for our artists to both individually renew and to congregate for camaraderie.”
The $2.5 million renovation marks the first for the tower since it opened in 2008.
