On September 23, 2026, The Morgan Library & Museum will present ‘Tarot Music in Magic.’
This concert program is curated by leading composer Victoria Bond, and is inspired by the museum’s ‘Tarot! Renaissance Symbols, Modern Visions,’ exhibition. Selections include pieces by Maurice Ravel and Katherine Hoover, touching on themes of folk magic and traditions, as well as related operatic pieces like the ‘Quintet Card Scene’ from Bizet’s ‘Carmen.’ The evening will conclude with Bond’s ‘Instruments of Revelation,’ which draws inspiration from the Tarot cards of ‘The Magician,’ ‘The High Priestess,’ and ‘The Fool.’
Artists for the night will be flutist Carol Wincenc, clarinetist Charles Neidich, violinist Hahnsol Kim, cellist Michael Nicolas, and pianist Mohamed Shams.
Tickets and further details can be found on The Morgan Library’s website.
